The Night before Ondoy

The night before Ondoy was tragic enough for me and my family. I brought my 25 days old baby in the hospital that night as she was suffering from diarrhea and fever, the pedia advised me not to take any risk as this could be serious. I felt like the world tumbled down when the pedia stated that it could be a blood infection. So we decided to bring my daughter to the hospital that night, we were supposed to take her to Mission Hospital where I gave birth to her, but since we cannot contact the pediatrician who was there when I gave birth we contacted the old pedia of my son. She advised that we might as well take our baby to De Los Santos Medical Center, and so we did. It was very heartbreaking to imagine her in an I.V. that was why I was so afraid for her to be admitted but she could suffer from dehydration if we don't. I was actually surprised when they put the I.V., Elysse barely cried; I was so relieved as it was not as bad as I had imagined. But either way it still looks painful. The next day was unimaginable, I have learned from the news that there is a storm coming but I couldn't care less because all I have in mind that moment was my baby girl. I didn't even realized that it started to rain so hard because we cannot hear it inside the hospital room, I was actually waiting for my husband to go back to the hospital and was getting furious on whats keeping him. He called me up around 9 am to tell me that there is a big traffic jam at the C5 road and they decided to go back because the flood is fast rising, I didn't believe him at first but when he asked to look outside if its already flooded; to my surprise E. Rodriguez Ave. was impassable. To make the long story short, we stayed in the hospital for good 4 days as the results of my baby's tests were delayed because of the typhoon. But it was a blessing in disguise because the hospital we originally planned to take her was hard hit by the typhoon. I have a lot of things to be thankful for, not only my daughter's tests went negative from any infection but my whole family was not affected by the storm that much. It was indeed a very eventful month not just for us but for the whole nation, these experiences are something that you pray so hard for not to happen over again.

September 26th

Last September 26 was a very tragic day for every Filipinos here and abroad, a very strong typhoon named Ondoy hits the country and left hundreds of people suffering. Some lost their homes and possessions, some lost their loved ones. True enough this event woke every Filipino up and realized that we cannot just rely on our Government to give us help in times like this. "Bayanihan" so to speak was very visible at that very tragic moment. I am hoping that this alone will be a wake up call for everyone to realize that the Earth we are living in is not ours, God let us borrow this beautiful land and it is for us to look after it and make sure that it won't be abused. He has the power to take everything from us, I know that He did not made it happen for us to suffer; but for us to realize that there is more to life than merely prized and material possessions. Let this be not just a wake up call but a warning that in every action there is an equal reaction. God Bless everyone and lets keep eye on each other.

Addition to My Dear Life

Well, I haven't been here for quite sometime now... but I guess I can still catch up. Let me just announce to you the arrival of my new baby girl Elysse Lauren C. Oraa, she was born Aug. 31, 2009 via Cesarean section; she weigh 3 Kilos and I have to deliver her into this world for a good 12 hrs of Labor... so much for labor of love don't you think?? :) I have many things to share to you but I only have few minutes left so for now I will be posting her very cute picture and will post more of her in the next few days.... here she is My Little Miss....

How many of you girls who at least once in your life had a hard time finding the right bra that will flatter and support your breasts? I'm sure a lot of us had experienced this, one way or the other. And I'm not an exemption, being born with a relatively plus size breasts was no fun at all.
